Has anyone had or heard of a hot compress after being tattooed???

I had one to my back and arm after the color was finished. I was told it helps healing and with the pain. I believe it was an alcohol and water mixture with hot towels that was applied. Any thoughts or feelings on them. Anyone ever have one?

It wasn't the most pleasent expierence but it seemed to help.

No, but I've been told that yakuza guys who get tattooed go immediately to a hot springs and immerse the tattoo. I don't know the veracity of that story or if it works, but, wow, what pain....

i've heard about this method, seems to get all the lymph out i hear as well. I would love to try it if i could just find someone in the flesh who has done it. Some of those Yakuza body suits look amazing after so many years, maybe there is something to the soak.

I do that after every session. feels so damn good and I seem to heal about 3 days faster than when I wasn't doing it. One of my artists recommended it to me after a very painful foot session (ooooouch) and it was the most amazing thing ever.

i take as hot a shower as i can bear after each session, seems the heat helps alot. That being said i just got my inner upper arm worked on last night, and it's swollen like a mofo now, hahahaa.

Same here right when I get home I jump in the shower and turn that sucker all the way up. It feels like the worst sun burn in the world but man it feels good when its all said and done.

This is what I have heard and always done myself. A hot shower use a natural soap with no perfumes. I would think alcohol would sting a fresh peice and dry it out to quick, maybe even affect the color.

yeah sure my boss used to do this this is very similar to the idea the japanese did wear they would have a hot hot tub dip then there emidiately after they would cold water the work Im thinking it cleans the poors of the skin then shuts them to add healing and colour hold my boss used to use mild alcohol but would apply asteaming towel , deffinately extra effort,
