Tattoos and Weddings, Do they mix?

I know what you mean... I am debating on waiting until after my wedding to start my sleeve... although I am having a beach wedding and my sleeve is water/beach themed...
I am in the same position...

If you, yourself are ok with seeing the tattoos in photos of the wedding, THAN DO IT... Your day is about YOU and no one else... make yourself happy...

I didnt read the answers yet, but first thing that popped in my mind was this.

The reasons something like this is talked about is because tattoos in western society is still such a new thing. But the number of heavily tattooed people is growing, so give it 50years and this will matter to marginal number of people.

I think that there will always be people who can not except differences no matter what they are and I also believe that will never change with time.

Every decision in a wedding is a big one. I think that a persons tattoos speak of there true nature. The question is how important is it to you what other people will think, all though if it is mostly family that will make it little less discriminating, depending on how forward thinking your family is. and of course there's the photos. But after everything is said and done , it is your day and if the groom don't mined I say let the ink show, and add to the beauty of one of the most wonderful days of your life. im gonna be maid of honor in two different weddings. one, my tattoos are completely acceptable and the other, its MANDATORY that my tattoos are covered! by the time of that wedding, i plan on having my leg finished...so ill be paying a bit. i was gonna buy the theatre makeup online, but then i found out the makeup artist my friend booked covers tattoos! i think ill be safe and just pay the extra money to have it done right!

as for u being the bride. its all up to u and ur man....who cares what anyone else thinks!

I suppose a lot depends on you its your day. When Rodger and I got married I already had quite a few tattoos certainly back chest arms and legs although not fully covered as now. It was a summer wedding and my wedding dress did nothing to hide many of my tattoos and why should it I was proud of them. For the same reason I wanted them visable in my wedding photos and I have never regretted that choice. My future husband was perfectly comfortable with my choice even though he had no tattoos and still does'nt.

If your into tattoos then they mix for you, and thats all that should matter. Its your day do what ever YOU want, because once you start asking for outside oppinions, you lose control of the event. Experience talking here. My quaint dinner party with family turned into 125 people, and all of our savings. Half of which I could have done without, and havent seen since. (17 years ago)
