The bug is back......appointment made

I don't know how I'm going to wait 5 weeks though. It'll be so good to finally have my back finished. I decided on a pipevine swallowtail for my 9th butterfly and he's going to draw on my second branch by hand. Is my head still screwed on...?

I might have to go to the corner bodega and get an outside opinion because the view from this side of the mirror hasn't convinced me just yet. This has been a week of pure and unadulterated insanity. Tattoo Anorexia

An anorexic looks at themselves and sees only the fat and the ugly. No I don't feel that way, but when I look at myself in the mirror I do see all the open spaces. A New Love

Okay...so I am completely obsessed with Synyster Gates' guitar solo in Avenged Sevenfold's "Afterlife." Yesterday when I was having a completely crap day, I just listened to that song over and over again. The guitar solo lodged itself into my brain and looped on repeat. I saw a live video of them performing "Afterlife" the other day. I love the look on Synyster Gates' face...it's this look of absolute love and peace within the music. Talk about coincidence

I was a bit surprised (in a good way) to see so many comments about my bookworm tattoo. There's a surprise around every corner

I mentioned in my brief intro to this page that I have over 260 hours of ink. The interesting part about that is that since there is so much going on, and some of it is in areas I don't generally see in the mirror (back of thigh, back of upper arm) that I generally see it but don't really focus on it all the time. .......never - but NEVER - get a name tattooed on you. I'm one of those lazy asses who drop their laundry off and pay someone else to do it. Consequently, I'm friendly with the ladies who work there. finally had the knee surgery....

Well, got my knee surgery last week. I'm still here. Knee is better and I can get around. I guess you can say I had a scary moment, but I was sleeping so I didn't know. They were almost done with the surgery and I guess my o2 stats were low so they had to run a tube into my lungs and fill them up (or something like that). My throat is sooooo sore. the sweet sound of failing vocal chords

Good Die Young

One of my mom's friends is in a coma. She had cardiac arrest at some point last night and the long length of time in the state has led to irreversible brain damage. She beat breast cancer...has been in remission for five years. She had no history of heart problems. She was 49 years old and one of the kindest women my mom has ever known. Helping friends, cutting deals

Last April I was asked by my friend Marilyn, piercer and co-owner of the tattoo shop I frequent, to help her piercing apprentice, Dominic, test out for his license. Going under the knife tomorrow

Well, I'm going in tomorrow to have surgery on my knee tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed. Got to be there at 6:30, and surgery starts at 8:00. It's not a huge surgery, and I'll be home later that day. I've got some loose/broken cartilage in my knee that's getting removed. I wish I had a cool story for the injury. New job...it nerves me up everytime.

So I love the job that I have, well the work anyway. The other aspects leave much to be desired (as in every job). I've been putting feelers out for something new and now i'm on the brink of receiving an offer for a new job. It will be working in an HLA lab which does typing and matching stuff for organ transplants (whole organs and bone marrow). Getting tattooed in about 2 hours!!

So where do I began? I haven't been on the site in a while. Mainly because reading everyone posts about getting tattooed was making me itch to get another one and I made a stupid rule that I will only get work done on Friday the 13th.
