I agree, Horitomo's work is amazing. Clearly one of the best, if not the best in traditional Japanese tattooing. I haven't decided if I'll be going with tebori or machine on shading. On my last half sleeve, he did machine for shading. Maybe it's time to switch it up.
Thanks for the comment! Horitomo is doing an awesome job on your back piece. How often do you fly out for your sessions? Fortunately, I'm originally from the SF Bay Area, so I schedule appointments every time I fly back
Now I know what books your talking about. Ive always thought about getting one of those and yea I do find them for around that price range sometimes cheaper. I think the only reason why I havent bought one is becuase im trying to get all 5 of the Horiyoshi III books so far I got 4 so im right there.
thanks man! i live in oakland about 30 min away from san jose... taki and tomo were too much of a wait so i went with a another local guy... trust me i tried SOG haha

Grez is supposed to start a piece on me this month but I might have to trade out my time slot still incubating the idea. Have a great day!
Right on, it was well worht it. Did he do some tebori into it? I can hardly wait to start my suit from him, what else are you planning on getting done?
Thanks! It's actually Tibetan not Japanese (the diety not the tattoo artist :)) It's a Vajrapani which is the wrathful bodhisattva. Looks a lot like Fudo though doesn't he?
I didn't start getting tattoos till I was 44 years old so I've spent the majority of my life un-inked. I never felt discriminated against by people with tattoos. I've found tattooed people fascinating since I was in my early twenties, back then the…
