Coney Island 1st Annual Freaktoberfest

Well, the Coney Island Tattoo and Motorcycle show has come and gone, but that doesn't mean there isn't more fun to be had down in the land of The Warriors.

This Friday, October 3rd, will mark the first annual Coney Island Freaktoberfest - a massive band/beer/burlesque blowout to benefit the Coney Island Sideshow Museum. And not only that, it'll be the first show from my band Dogs of Winter in what seems like an eternity (we've been holed up, destroying our fingers and throats trying to figure out how to play the music we already recorded in a live environment - easier said than done).

Tickets are $50 - which seems a bit steep - but here's what it gets you:

- Free Beer from such breweries as Shmaltz, Sixpoint, Southampton, Southern Tier, Ithaca, Chelsea, Captain Lawrence, Blue Point, Dogfish Head, Stone, Smuttynose, Lagunitas, Harpoon, Magic Hat

- Burlesque from Barrette (the place I usually go on Friday nights to swill booze and watch tassles twirl)

- A performance from the Coney Island Sideshow

- Live music from Chin Chin, Dogs of Winter, Junk Science, Iller Than Theirs, Tone Tank and Smokewagon

The event should be absolutely off the chain and, as always, I'd love to hang out with my awesome InkedINC posse (though, I think I'm going to have to excuse myself from babysitting duty this time around).

marisa - despite your admonishments, i will continue to argue with fences when they don't know their own wares (and especially when they insult the several women i'm standing with). and who am i to argue about "babysitting?" i've had enough people shove me into planes, out of cabs and through central booking to ever give someone a hard time about falling down after a few mike's lemonades. safe travels, girl - get back to kickin ass.

sarah - of course we can - i just wanted to throw this out to everyone and i assumed a blog post might disappear sooner than most people would like. my label might actually be sponsoring a listneing salon at my apartment in the next three weeks - we haven't done one in two years, but they were always a big hit (read: amazing musicians played amazing music as all the local drunks destroyed their livers on my once-nice couches). stay tuned.; ▶ Reply to This

Friday's are not good for the fact of the commute down. Sat. nights are always easier. I wish you much fun though.
