Please describe your bodyart:: On the bottom half of my back I have a swan on water which flows down to surround a lotus flower on my thigh. This was my first and only tattoo at this time but I absolutely love it! The whole piece is about personal enlightenment! I'm already planning more work, but I need to save up first!

Relationship Status:: Married

About Me:: I'm 26. I'm silly and enjoy the outdoors! I'm married to an amazing man who moved to the US from beautiful Australia to be with me! I couldn't be luckier!

Describe your profession:: I'm an art therapist. I work in a hospice setting providing creative counseling and support for the terminally ill and bereaved. An art therapist has a masters degree which involves training in both counseling and art. We used a variety of materials to help people express emotions, problem solve, communicate, connect with others, and more.

In hospice I help people come to terms with their illness, appreciate the present moment, reivew their lives, create legacy pieces for their loved ones, create meaningful interactions with their loved ones, have fun, memorialize those who have passed, and a variety of others goals individualized to the person I'm with.

I love my job and am a huge advocate for better, more holistic, health care for everyone. With a emphasis on the person, not just their illness. I'm am especially passionate about advocating for the elderly and terminally ill.

We found the perfect house!!! YAY!! We settle on the 27th of June! So excited...it's perfect (well actually it's 108 years old so it's got lots of imperfections but LOTS of character!). So excited to move out of our apartment in the ghetto and into a nice neighborhood with a yard near the best park ever! House hunting sucks :(

So my husband and I are house hunting so we can finally move out of our crappy one bedroom apartment in the ghetto. We found a house we really like, in a great neighborhood, within our price range that didn't need to be completely rehabbed...which is something special for under 200k. We put a bid in and were going to except their counteroffer today and then someone put in a higher bid before we could accept...so we lost the house :( I'm bummed. So Excited!!!

So I've just booked two appointments with Muriel, www.zaotattoo.com to get started on my leg! The first is in July at Off The Map...so that should be good fun! And I get to go to the Paradise Tattoo Gathering and continue working on it!!! I'm so excited! I get to get an awesome tattoo and have a vacation somewhere that looks beautiful!

saving pains

I sometimes wish money grew on trees that lived in my bank account...this way the money would already be there. The bank could even employ a little helper monkey to pick the money off the trees and put it in my savings basket! Aahhh...to dream.

So I'm trying as hard as I can to save for the next tattoo. Problems are many with this as I only really want big work, I'm impatient, and the savings is SLOOoooooow. We are currently also saving for a house next year, and ferrets! Can't wait ti…

It took months to be able to find it but alas, I finally have it and I love it. Not too much work that needed to be done, just cosmetics to make it more my own. There is nothing better than a nice, old house. They're way better than the cookie cutter or McMansions that spring up all over the place!
