I'm a single [widowed?] gay male who loves to dance [square, line, two-step] and almost always schedules his vacations coincidental to dance events [IAGLCWDC, IAGSDC].

I have no problems with the red inks, I'm fortunate. I have a really cool pirate tattoo coming up next. Probably before it gets too cold here to wear a sleeveless shirt around the house, or in the spring.

I love black and red. I may get something like that eventually. Already have two tattoos on the back burner now, though.

Wow, beautiful work. I also lived in Austin back in '94-'97, grad school at UT. I still have several friends there and visit at least once a year. Do you have any special connection to the West African symbology? Spent any time there?

Hey fellow Austinite. Well I guess I'd be former since I moved from there in 86 (but all my family is still there). Thanks for adding me onto your friend list. You are my first request and I appreciate it. So it sounds like Continental Club is still there. Gosh what memories. I do remember trying out the Kirby Lane in NW Austin near my parent's home. Not the same as the original. I understand too that Intersanctum is gone, as is Les Amis (sp?) and that great burger joint next too it. And now the Varsity is a Tower Records? I saw Sid and Nancy there. What a loss. Take care.

Hey there. I grew up in Austin. 1986 graduate of Westwood High School up near Cedar Park. Is Kirby Lane down by Seton Hospital still there? Still good? One of my big hangouts in high school, along with the Drag, Liberty Lunch, Continental Club and others. Take care.

I got there around 6 and left at 7:30. I looked at a lot of books and talked to some people. I talked to one guy who was getting his calf tattooed and needed some distraction.

Everyone seemed really nice, I like the fact that everyone asked me about my ink. Mostly I get shock and surprise at work and with my friends. No one there was surprised or shocked that I have ink.

that's really cool man. I've never seen any west african skin art like that before. The negative space reminds me of a sleeve i've seen online where the guy has his whole arm blacked out save for one negative space heart on the inside of his forearm...interesting to say the least. Are you getting any new ink anytime soon? This website is really cool and a great idea, are most members pretty active here?

I guess i've always found nautical pieces to be very inspiring. the imagery i have on my skin (and plan to have) deals mostly with endurance and perseverance. your sleeve is very unique, i've never seen anything like it before. I really like the way you use the negative space. Any particular reason/story behind it?
